Shri B.C.Tripathi carries an experience of over 35 years in India’s Natural Gas business and has a unique distinction of having hands-on expertise across the segments of Hydrocarbon project management, operations and Strategy formulation & Business expansion. Shri Tripathi has been a founding employee of GAIL since 1984 and has shaped GAIL to be a premier ‘Maharatna’ corporation in India.

GAIL has won wide acclaim and recognition in various categories under his leadership and having steered the company’s strategy for securing LNG for India’s long-term energy security, he was conferred with the ‘Best LNG Executive’ at the 14^th World LNG Summit - Paris.

He concurrently serves as Chairman of the Board of subsidiary companies viz. GailGas Limited and Brahmaputra Chemicals & Petrochemicals Limited and in the earlier years helmed the flagship City Gas Distribution entities – Indraprastha Gas Limited and Mahanagar Gas Limited, in addition to being a promoter Director at Petronet LNG Ltd.

Currently, Shri Tripathi’s efforts are dedicated to building GAIL’s global scale capability for handling LNG and natural gas portfolio with midstream infrastructure expansion to support Government of India’s endeavor for developing green energy economy fuelled by natural gas.
