Shin Hosaka is a Deputy Commissioner, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (METI). Shin is responsible for all the international affairs in Japan's energy policy including Japan's LNG procurement/market strategy, energy mix, nuclear power and renewable energies. He joined METI in 1987 and has a broad experience in METI's domestic and international policies such as those regarding small and medium enterprise, automotive industry, corporate affairs, environmental issue etc. In the energy policy field, he recently served as a Director for Petroleum and Natural Gas Division in the late 2000s and as a Director for General Policy Division of Commissioner's Secretariat, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in the early 2010s. Shin holds a Bachelor of Economics from University of Tokyo, Master of Economics from University of Michigan.
