Ms. Yalan Li has rich experiences on corporate strategy management, investment and financing, capital operation, and asset management. Her years of experience working in the industry allow a forward-looking view on both Chinese and international energy policies, energy development strategy and greenhouse gas emission reduction. She organized and completed the study and implementation of natural gas development plan for Beijing Municipality; carried out a large number of coal-to-gas projects; led the compilation of Natural Gas Development Plan of Beijing Municipality from the 9th Five-Year Plan period to the 12th Five-Year Plan period and the Development Strategy Study of Beijing Gas Group Corporate; completed many town gas acquisition projects; and successfully led the strategic cooperation between Beijing Gas Group and ENGIE (former GDF SUEZ) on LNG procurement. Under her leadership, Beijing Gas Group strives to develop into an international energy enterprise.
Ms. Li graduated from Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture majored in town gas and Renmin University majored in Business Administration. She holds a Master’s Degree of Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She had studied in Gas De France for one year in 1990. After she came back to China, she worked in the Public Utilities Bureau of Beijing Municipal Government and then Beijing Gas Group. Since 2001, she had worked as Chief Engineer, Deputy General Manager and Vice Chairperson and General Manager of the Company. She was appointed as Chairperson of the Board of Beijing Gas Group and Deputy General Manager of Beijing Enterprises Group in June 2014. She also holds the positions of Vice Chairperson of China Gas Society and Vice Chairperson of China Gas Association.
Ms. Li is appointed IGU Regional Coordinator for Asia and Asia Pacific for 2018 – 2021 triennium and was elected as IGU President for 2021-2024 triennium.
