Björn Munko is Head of Business Development & Sales at TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH, a long established market leader for the design and construction of cargo handling systems for ships and offshore units carrying liquefied cryogenic gases (LNG, LPG, and petrochemical gases) as well as LNG fuel gas systems for merchant vessels. He joined TGE as a Project Engineer in 2003 and gained extensive experience across multi-disciplinary and complex offshore projects. He has further been involved in the engineering and commissioning of a number of liquefied gas terminals and carriers.
During his time at TGE he has spent extended time in Asia, including a one year assignment at the Shanghai branch office. In 2007 he started his work for the Sales department, in close cooperation with shipyards and shipping companies worldwide, but particularly in Asia and Europe on new gas carrier projects. His work as Sales Manager included the technical definition of the gas plant particulars up to commercial contract closure. His work further includes the development of new business models and opportunities in the areas of small scale LNG and floating LNG.
Since 2017 Mr. Munko has taken responsibility for the complete product range of TGE Marine by leading the sales department as General Manager, Head of Business Development and Sales.
Mr. Munko holds a diploma in Mechanical and Process Engineering of the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), with his Master thesis written at the University of Sheffield (UK).
