This Master Class will help you better understand how evolution in the natural gas and LNG industries has affected the development of LNG projects. This Master Class will provide an in-depth analysis of various LNG project structures and the issues encountered in negotiating the contracts associated with those projects. You will leave the Master Class armed with a better understanding of how the various components of an LNG project fit together and of the issues faced by project developers and negotiators in today’s dynamic market.

Jason Bennett is the Chair of the Global Projects department at Baker Botts and concentrates on project development, oil and gas projects and transactions, project finance and international business transactions and investments. Jason has extensive current experience with LNG projects, including assisting clients with the development, construction and launch of greenfield liquefaction projects and related upstream developments, regasification facility projects, LNG shipping matters and the structuring of LNG trading platforms and investments. He also assists clients with development and structuring of joint venture, joint marketing, and joint operating agreements, offtake and balancing arrangements and with acquisitions and divestitures of interests in LNG, oil and natural gas, pipeline and non-conventional energy projects. He holds a BA (1993) from the University of Texas, Austin, and a JD with honors (1999) from Georgetown University Law Center.
Tom Holmberg counsels clients around the world on LNG projects and related matters along the entire LNG value chain. He assists project developers, LNG buyers, and other industry participants in all stages of such projects, including the initial development and structuring and the negotiating and drafting of related commercial agreements. Additionally, Tom advises his clients on regulatory issues relating to the LNG industry in the United States, including the approval process before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He also represents clients before the Department of Energy (DOE) with respect to authorizations to export and import natural gas and LNG under the Natural Gas Act. Tom holds a BA in Economics (1993) from the University of Arizona and a JD (2000) from Georgetown University Law Center.
