Gender Diversity in the Gas Industry
Today, March 8, is International Women’s Day and we would like to recognize all the hardworking women in the natural gas industry and do more to help gender diversity! Happy #InternationalWomensDay
Various studies have shown that gender diversity is the smart thing for business.
Peterson Institute for International Economics’ (PIIE) survey released last month, covering 21,980 publicly traded companies in 91 countries, found strong positive correlations between gender diversity and increased profitability of these companies. An EY study also showed 64% of high-performing companies reported that men and women have equal influence on strategy in their organizations.
However, energy companies are missing out on the benefits of diversity. The Future of Jobs study (published at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland), highlights that only 11% of senior executives are female and an absence of women in CEO roles.
We want to take action to change that – through positive encouragement, networking and leadership at the 27th World Gas Conference in Washington, DC from 25-29 June 2018.
We value your input into our program!
We are planning our own activities at the event to address the gender gap. We know there is a lot of work to do, but we’re committed to helping. Part of that listening to your feedback, as well as keeping an eye on our progress and doing something about it. Please let us know what you would like to see at WGC 2018 – we value your feedback!
